How to Set Up IPTV on Kodi (PVR IPTV Simple Client)
Kodi turns a PC, Android box, Firestick or Raspberry Pi into a full media center. IPTV Trends loads through Kodi's own PVR IPTV Simple Client, with the TV guide included.
- 9 min
- Medium
- Kodi + PVR IPTV Simple Client
- M3U link + EPG link
Before you start
- Your IPTV Trends login from the activation email (free trial or paid plan)
- Your Kodi connected to the internet
- At least 10 Mbps for HD streams, 25 Mbps for 4K
Step-by-step setup
Step 1: Install PVR IPTV Simple Client
In Kodi go to Settings → Add-ons → Install from repository → PVR clients → PVR IPTV Simple Client → Install (or Enable if it's already there).
- Works on Kodi 19 (Matrix), 20 (Nexus) and 21 (Omega)
- Same steps on Windows, Mac, Android, Firestick and Raspberry Pi
Step 2: Add your M3U playlist
Open the add-on → Configure → General.
- Location: Remote path (Internet address)
- M3U play list URL: your IPTV Trends M3U link
Your login arrives by email the moment you subscribe or start your free trial: Server URL, Username, Password and your M3U playlist link. Can't find it? Check spam, or open a support ticket and we'll resend it.
Step 3: Add the TV guide
In the EPG tab set Location to Remote path and paste your XMLTV link.
Xtream Codes logins load the TV guide automatically. If an app asks for an EPG (XMLTV) link, use http://SERVER:PORT/xmltv.php?username=USERNAME&password=PASSWORD with your own details, or ask support to send it.
Step 4: Restart Kodi
Close Kodi completely and open it again. Open TV from the main menu to see your channels and guide.
Troubleshooting
Restart Kodi fully (not just back out of the menu). If it's still empty, check the M3U link for typos and that Location is set to Remote path.
Make sure the XMLTV link is in the EPG tab, then restart Kodi. The first guide load can take a minute.
